SPSS Brief Introduction
What is SPSS Statistics?
SPSS Statistics is one of the products of SPSS Family of products. It helps people validate assumptions faster, guiding them in using the right statistical capability at the right time. It also gives analysts flexible access to powerful analytical techniques, whatever their level of expertise. Finally, it helps organizations make the most of their analytical resources by scaling from the simplest to the most widespread initiative.
With SPSS Statistics, organizations can streamline their data analysis and reporting processes. Instead of using multiple tools and resources, analysts can work within a single, integrated suite of products— simplifying not only the jobs of analysts and their managers but those of the organization’s technical support staff as well.
What Subscription options are available for SPSS?
In subscription options, there is a base subscription with limited set of modules. Additional modules are categorised into three different add-ons:
- Custom tables and advanced statistics
- Complex sampling and testing
- Forecasting and decision trees
Users can optionally add one or more add-ons to their subscriptions, based on their specific needs. The table below describes the modules that are included in the bases as well as the add-on subscriptions.

Is there a perpetual / term license available for SPSS Statistics?
Yes, SPSS perpetual / term licenses are available too. However unlike subscription model, where users can decide a mix of add-ons depending on their precise needs, in perpetual licensing users can select one of the four bundled set of modules (called packages). The following options are available:
- Base
- Standard
- Professional
- Premium
Users can optionally add SPSS Amos, however this is available only for windows desktop application. The table below describes the modules that are included in the four perpetual / term licenses options:
